New Cast Members for The Flash, Arrow Announced

During the recent Comic-Con panel celebrating the success of the CW’s Arrow and introducing its spin-off The Flash, both shows’ writers announced and confirmed a number of intriguing guest stars coming to both shows this fall. While some of the announcements had been previously leaked and reported (among them, the arrivals of Captain Cold and Firestorm on Flash and The Atom on Arrow), there were still a few that resonated within the fanbase.

Now, post-Comic-Con, two casting announcements have been made for two of the new characters. First, Kelly Frye will be taking on the role of Bette Sans Souci, alter ego of the hero Plastique. For the uninitiated, Plastique gains the ability to change any object she touches into an explosive device in the aftermath of the STARR Labs explosion (the same explosion that gives Barry Allen his Flash powers). Frye will appear in the fifth episode of The Flash‘s inaugural season.

"Power" New York Premiere - Arrivals

J.R. Ramirez will be joining the cast of Arrow in the role of Wildcat (also known as Ted Grant). While the character has been cast a great deal younger than in previous incarnations, Wildcat will play a crucial role in Laurel’s storyline for the third season (perhaps helping to train her to take on the mantle of Black Canary?).

Oh- one more major item gleaned from the Arrow trailer revealed at Comic-Con? Ra’s al Guhl will be coming to the screen. No word yet on who will be taking on the infamous leader of the League of Assassins, but hopefully we’ll find out prior to Arrow‘s October 8 premiere date. The Flash will premiere the day before, on October 7.
