New PES Soccer Trailer Shows Real vs Bayern Gameplay

At Gamescon 2013 Konami have shown off the sharp graphics and slick gameplay of their newest soccer title, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. It will be released in September 2013 for Xbox 360 and all major consoles.

Pro Evo, as it is affectionately known to its hardcore fans, has had a dwindling fan base over the years due to the popularity and overall finer finish of the Fifa series. There is now a cult following of the game with elitists always arguing that Pro Evo is better than the Fifa series. At one point, I used to be a huge Pro Evo fan and wouldn't have dreamt of playing a Fifa game. Unfortunately, the Pro Evo series remained static in terms of graphics and gameplay, while the Fifa series seemed to advance at every yearly offering. This lead to a mass exodus away from Konami's only sports game.

Now however, Konami has apparently made some serious improvements, as shown in the trailer below which showcases some sharp, detailed graphics and fluid gameplay. I remember a time when soccer sims were rife in the market, with Fifa, Pro Evo, Actua Soccer, 4-4-2 soccer, Addidas Power Soccer, and International Superstar Soccer all fighting its corner for the soccer crown. In recent years, however, it has just been Pro Evo vs Fifa and with the latest footage, it may be the first time in 4 years I actually go back to Pro Evo and give it a good try!
