New Trailer for Sundance Channel’s “Top of The Lake”

Jane Campion’s latest project premiered in a special screening at the Sundance Film Festival and will make its television debut March 18 on the Sundance Channel. The series follows Robin Griffin (Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss) as she investigates the disappearance of a twelve-year-old pregnant girl whose father is a local drug lord in Queenstown, New Zealand. The impressive cast includes past Campion collaborator, Holly Hunter, Peter Mullan, David Wenham, and Lucy Lawless. The intense trailer gives us a glimpse into the gritty and atmospheric world created by Campion and does a good job in introducing the overall narrative of the series. Watch the trailer here:

Campion co-wrote the seven-part co-production with “Sweetie” partner Gerard Lee and directed along with Garth Davis. Mad Men fans can look forward to watching Moss take on a vastly different role than their beloved Peggy Olson. From the bits we see in the trailer Moss seems to have taken on the role with great success and managed to leave behind any traits familiar to her work in the popular AMC series. Holy Hunter and Peter Mullan both captivate in the brief snippets shown in the preview. The quality of the talent involved with the project is very promising, making Top of the Lake one of the most anticipated series of the Spring season.

Will you be watching on March 18?
