Usually every year, New York Comic Con shares the Javits Center with Anime Fest on the same weekend as separate events, but in 2012 that will change. 
New York Comic Con and Anime Fest will merge together to become one big pop culture event. This will allow the anime exhibiters to pay cheaper prices. They will be able to serve the anime community better within the NYCC infrastructure. The show manager of NYCC Lance Fensterman says, “This move has nothing to do with our loyalty or commitment to the anime community and everything to do with the growth and identity of New York Comic Con as a leading pop culture event.”
