Penniless Gamer – Games for the Frugal 360 Owner

It’s the end of the year and all of your shopping is done. Chances are you are probably broke, and maybe you did not pull in the haul of games that you thought you were going to get. Now you have expended most of your funds and your game shelf is looking a little bare. Here are a few good Xbox 360 games that will not break the bank.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - Released in October of this year, Enslaved received mostly positive reviews from critics, including a score of 9.0 from Player Affinity’s own Jay Malone. Enslaved is a contemporary spin on the classic Chinese folk tale Journey to the West and can be yours right now for only $20 on Amazon.

SingularitySingularity, while an extremely solid title is not something new and revolutionary. You play the role of Lt. Renko, a soldier who finds himself transported through time in Soviet Russia. He eventually gains controls of a Time Manipulation Device (TMD) and must unravel the mystery behind events that are continuously shaping and reshaping his world. Singularity will not win any awards for its gameplay, but it is solid on every level and with a price of only $15.50 on Amazon, it is worth a look.

Mass Effect 2 – If you have somehow managed to stave off Mass Effect fever for this long, it is high time to pick up the second chapter in the Mass Effect saga. Join the fight as Commander Shepard survives certain death and discovers the threat of the mysterious Collectors. With amazing visuals, intriguing characters, and multiple endings this is a must have for any Mass Effect fan or any Sci-Fi fan in general. You can find it on Amazon for less than $20.

Dead Space – Turning the horror genre on its head, Dead Space is a contemporary horror game done correctly. You take on the role of Isaac, an engineer on the USG Ishimura whose entire crew has been taken over by aliens. There are no cheap scares here as every tense moment feels incredibly organic. With Dead Space 2 right around the corner, it is the perfect time to pick up the franchise and see what all the hype is about. You can pick it up for $20 on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
