Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Announced

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company's big announcement today that was a long time coming and also not surprising. Continuing the tradition of releases, the remakes for Pokemon's third generation are finally announced for the 3DS. Titled Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the new games are slated for a worldwide release on November 2014.

The original Ruby & Sapphire came out in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance introducing a new batch of Pokemon, the Hoenn region, and major gameplay changes such as two on two battles, abilities for every Pokemon, beauty contests, and many more. It also had a big storyline starring Team Magma and Plasma depending on which version you got and the featured legendary Pokemon Groudon and Kyogre. Nintendo has said that these remakes take place in a new world, so it is possible we will see Hoenn changed a bit from the originals. The announcement trailer above didn't reveal much besides the box art for the new versions seeing the legendaries looking slightly different from their original iterations.
We'll see more of these remakes at E3 next month along with gameplay footage. It will be great seeing Hoenn in the Pokemon X & Y engine along with the recent gameplay changes seen in the later generations. Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be released sometime this November only for the 3DS.
