Turn off the Lights

Quake Con 2012 Dates Announced

As we see the turning of a new year, we also see the renewal of our favorite conventions like Blizzcon, PAX, and E3. Among them is Bethesda's Quake Con which will be held from 2-5 August at the Hilton Anatole, Texas.

QuakeCon is a free convention held every year in the Dallas, Texas  area. Thousands of computer gamers from all over the world make the journey to play with their friends on a massive gaming network, see the latest technology, and compete in world-class tournaments. While the convention celebrates id games in particular, it is really a huge party for fans of computer gaming in general from the hobbyist to the hardcore. Over the last six years, The Hilton Anatole has hosted five QuakeCon events. This function was first held in 1996 and only had 100 attendees, yet as this convention has evolved over the years over 8500 attended in 2010.

Even for those who don’t want to bring their computers along, there are still lots of things to do. Bethesda Softworks will be offering hands on, exclusive previews of upcoming games, and a number of different companies such as “Ventrilo” and “AT&T” will be there to unveil latest software and hardware releases. Every day of QuakeCon will be packed full of tournaments, entertainment, and hosted talks.
