Rectify to End with Season Four

rectify_still SundanceTV just announced that its critically acclaimed drama, Rectify, will be ending after the fourth season, which premieres this fall. The series is created and written by Ray Mckinnon. It focuses on Daniel Holden, played by Aden Young,  a man recently released from death row after serving 19 years for the rape and murder of his high-school girlfriend. The series tells a story of how Holden gets reacclimated to life on the outside and how others react to his new found freedom. Rectify never had overly impressive ratings, but it has been a favorite among critics. The series won a Peabody Award in 2015 and is currently nominated for three Critics Choice Television Awards, including one for best drama series. Mckinnon said that there is no perfect time to end the show. It will be as if these characters will go on existing, they just won’t be documented anymore, according to Variety. Rectify’s final season will start production in 2016 and previous seasons can be found on Netflix. (Images courtesy of SundanceTV)
