Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer to Debut this Week

"The New "Star Wars" teaser trailer will be shown at select (unconfirmed as to how many) Regal Cinemas this week!"
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Star Wars fans rejoice! A rumor quickly circulated this morning (pre-empted yesterday by a post on reddit) and has been confirmed by Regal cinemas early this afternoon. Unlike every other massive trailer drop, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken an unprecedented leap by positioning the trailer before EVERY movie playing on Friday - Sunday.  While the rumors circulating the debut have speculated a cap of 100 theaters, and stipulations such as Big Hero 6 being played as the first movie of the day, currently, only a list of nine theaters are confirmed for the trailer. And that list is as follows:
Irvine, CA – Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX San Diego, CA – Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Atlanta, GA – Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Chicago, IL – Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX New York, NY – Regal Union Square Stadium 14 Warrington, PA – Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX Knoxville, TN – Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Houston, TX – Edwards Houston Marq’E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX Seattle, WA – Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX
Thanksgiving Weekend is the biggest movie holiday of the year, so for Disney/LucasFilms to do a blanket premier ensures that their trailer will have an enormous audience. Forgoing the more-recent trend of releasing online, it seems the studio behind J.J. Abrams' latest film would like to ensure that the images appear on the largest screen possible. When a full list of theaters is finally released, I am sure we can expect some massive box office numbers on top of the already-huge predictions.
