Sundance Releases First 12 Minutes of New Drama
The Sundance Channel had an incredible 2013. The network, in its first season of debuting original programing, had three critical hits:
Top of the Lake, Rectify, and the US premiere of the French drama
The Returned. In March, the network will look to capitalize on its success with its latest new drama
The Red Road.

The series, created by Aaron Guzikowski (who wrote the film
Prisoners), deals with the racial tensions between a federally unrecognized Native American tribe and the white locals in the town. The cast includes Julianne Nicholson (most recently seen in
Masters of Sex and in the film
August: Osage County) as the wife of the town sheriff, Jason Momoa (the dearly departed Kahl Drogo from
Game of Thrones) as one of the members of the Native American tribe, and Tom Sizemore as a shady drug dealer. Lisa Bonet is also set to make an appearance on the series.
The Red Road is set to begin on February 27th on Sundance, but Buzzfeed has a special sneak peek at the first twelve minutes of the pilot
here, so you can check the series out before its premiere.
