One of the biggest creative changes of the “New 52”, that has not been the result of large-scale controversy or the culmination of some editorial feuding, has just hit the Justice League line of books. As of December 2013 the acclaimed writing/art partnership of Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato will be leaving the series, which they have faithfully written and crafted since the advent of the “New 52”. Their run on The Flash will conclude with The Flash #25 – a “Zero Year” tie-in following an unpowered Barry Allen’s visit to Gotham City. They have since stated that rather than leave the company as so many other have they have simply felt their time was done and have moved onto another DC title to be disclosed in March of 2014.
This, of course, comes on the heels of the conclusion of their Reverse-Flash storyline, which saw the iconic villain reintroduced to the “New 52” and one that has been built up since they began writing. While no longer being attached to the main series proper – Brian Buccellato will be heading the upcoming Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion miniseries before saying farewell along with his cohort. The Flash will see a new creative starting with #26 with a standalone issue written by Christos Gage (Avengers Academy) and Neil Googe. Any updates will be sent in as soon as they come to light.
