THQ Launches Bizarre Marketing Campaign For Homefront

In what has to be one of the strangest PR stunts we have seen, THQ has begun to advertise its newest shooter via a number of online gaming websites. What is so strange about that, you ask? In this case, it is the image THQ has chosen to represent their game with. Instead of flashing up an image from the game, THQ has chosen to, well... We think it is better for you to just take a look at the image and draw your own conclusions.

Aside from the obvious reason of drawing attention to the ad, the naked women really have no business in an ad for a game like this. In a 2009 press release from THQ, design director David Votypka stated that Homefront "combines the unsettling notion of an occupied America with interactive, player-driven narratives to create a deeply engaging single and multiplayer experience." While the above image might be titillating, it hardly portrays that "unsettling" feeling they claim to be going for.
