Three actors join ‘Mockingjay’

The Hunger Games trilogy is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed series of young adult novels around, leading to a successful film adaptation which nearly made $700 Million worldwide. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set of release later this year and now casting for the next movies in the series has started.

Variety reported the biggest casting news that English actress Natalie Dormer is set to play Cressida, a defector from The Capital and joins the rebels in the war. Cressida is a character who plays an important role in the propaganda war, filming Katniss’ promo to gather support against The Capital. The 31-year-old actress is best known for her work on television, appearing as Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and Irene Adler in three episodes of Elementary.

’ Twitter account revealed that young actors Stef Dawson and Evan Ross are joining ‘Mockingjay’. Dawson hails from Australia and she is relatively new on the scene with most of her credits being a collection of independent movies, TV appearances and short films. Ross big credits to date has been nine episodes of 90210 as Charlie Selby and a supporting role in Jeff, Who Lives at Home.




Dawson will play Annie, a winner of The Hunger Games for District 4, suffering mental breakdown from the experience and Finnick Odair’s fiancé. Ross’ role is Messalla, a member of Cressida’s camera crew and another defector from The Capital.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is for November 22 release date whilst nations like Britain, Australia and Hong Kong will get it a day early.
