Transparent Renewed for Third Season

The second season has only just started production, but Amazon has already renewed its hit dramedy Transparent for a third season. Considering the level of awards buzz (the show won two Golden Globes back in January and is expected to snag several Emmy nominations when they are announced next month) and general good will toward the program, a renewal is hardly a surprise.

The series, which follows a California family as they deal with their father's gender transition (along with a host of other personal issues), was one of 2014's most pleasant surprises and really put the streaming site on the map. There is still no word on when the second season will premiere, but the series is currently in production. The expected date is some time in late 2015. But with this news, it looks like we'll get to keep watching the Pfeffermans for the foreseeable future.
