True Blood Star Leaves Show

Luke Grimes, who joined the True Blood cast during the show's most recent sixth season, has announced that he will be exiting the series prior to the upcoming seventh season. Grimes, who played vampire James (Jessica's new love interest, now that she and Jason have officially split), reportedly left the series over disagreements regarding the direction James would be taking during the show's final ten episode season. tb Grimes' career shouldn't be hurt to much, as the actor was recently cast as Christian Grey's brother in the much anticipated upcoming film adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey. There had been some speculation that Grimes might need to exit True Blood once this casting was announced, as the shooting schedules for both the television series and the film overlap. The character of James will be recast, as he is reportedly a major part of the seventh season story arcs. The final season of HBO's True Blood is set to air in the Summer of 2014.
