USA Network has ordered a second season of Colony, from co-creators Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Ryan Condal (Hercules). On the news, Chris McCumber, President of USA Network, had this to say: “Carlton and Ryan have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided. Colony’s performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see where the story takes us.” According to THR, Colony brings in “steady ratings” for the network, and the renewal comes amidst “an important time of change” for USA as they shift away from more optimistic procedurals like White Collar and Psych. Personally, I was incredibly invested in those shows when they first began airing, so this is a little sad to see, but with Mr. Robot getting so much buzz (and award-love), I’m sure USA Network is patting itself on the back right now. Colony stars Josh Holloway (Lost) and Sarah Wayne-Callies (The Walking Dead), and the series airs Thursday at 10|9 Central. Featured image via THR.
