Wii Sports Club Announced, Wii Fit U Dated

During a Nintendo Direct posted by the company earlier this morning (with no warning), Nintendo has announced an HD version of Wii Sports, labeled Wii Sports Club, as well as pricing details for Wii Fit U.

Wii Sports Club
offers all five minigames included with Wii Sports (Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Boxing and Bowling) with HD graphics, online multiplayer, and better motion controls with Wii MotionPlus. While online, players will be registered to regional clubs and can play against each other unranked or challenge rival clubs to increase your club’s overall rank.

It seems Wii Sports Club is a test for Nintendo with a very different pricing scheme when it releases on November 7, 2013. When you download the game (initially for free) off the eShop, you get a 24-hour trial to all five games. Once that expires, you can buy another 24-hours of play for $1.99 or permanently buy each sport for $9.99 each.

Wii Fit U will also priced differently than one expected. The full game will be available to download for free between November 1, 2013 and January 31, 2014, and you need a Wii Balance Board to play it. The game, which has 77 activities, will work for only one month when downloaded. The Fit Meter accessory, which will also be available on November 1st for $19.99, will unlock the trial for permanent play when synced to the Wii U. There’s also a packaged version of the game that’ll be available on December 13, 2013 and the full downloadable game will be available to buy off the eShop on February 1, 2014. The packaged version will be in two flavors, either as a bundle with the game and Fit Meter, or as a bundle with the game, Fit Meter and Balance Board for newcomers. Prices for those have yet been disclosed.

For those who want to watch the Direct, the video is posted below.
