American Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon (someone who often features video games) to show off the newest Donkey Kong game & announce the American release date window for the 3DS. And, much to the dismay of people looking forward to more 3D gaming, it won't come out until sometime next year. Many people predicted it would be out for the holidays this year, but unfortunately that's not the case.
Personally I'm not surprised. 3D is a new tech (to the gaming industry at least) and if you're going to base an entire system around one gimmick then you better make sure that gimmick works perfectly. Of course, even if people hate the 3D effect (which seems to be most of the gaming crowd), there's the switch to turn it off. That's a smart move in my opinion, but they should use the extra processing power to make games look better. But that's just my two cents.
How about you, Player Affinity faithful? Will you be purchasing the 3DS when it comes out sometime in 2011?
