Supernatural – Sympathy For the Devil
What an almost perfect start to the fifth season. We have Lucifer looking to obtain his vessel, Castiel was blown up by Zachariah, Bobby becomes a demon vessel, Meg's back in town, and Dean and Sam are at each others throats just like before.
We are going to have a wild ride here in season five. Basically Dean has decided to take on Lucifer (well maybe) and nothing is going to stop him. I think the fact that the angels have turned out to be just as bad as the demons could be the reason. Once again you get the feeling you can trust them about as far as you can throw them. They don't seem to be concerned about the collateral damage in any war between angels and demons.
Dean is the Sword of Michael. Wasn't it interesting, other than appearing as a woman who he knew, Lucifer told Mark Pellegrino who plays his vessel at least a semblance of the truth, but Zachariah choose to mask what the angels wanted till the last minute. I don't remember any mention of this the half dozen times he could have in the past season.
How'd they get Bobby? (the demons?) I thought they all wore or had wards that protected them from having that happen? Honestly I'm not sure they could do this show without Bobby. Even though he hasn't been in every episode he has been Dean and Sam's one constant throughout and has bailed them out numerous times. Castiel really made an entrance near the end as well. I like that character more and more every time I see him. Was he inferring that God pulled Dean, Sam, and Castiel from their places before any harm could come to them? Even Zachariah didn't seem to know what to make of that.
Meg's back, I wonder if that was the extent of Rachel Miner's part this season?
I could do with a little less angst between Dean and Sam and the speech at the end was a little heavy handed but they're going to have to work together if they are going to beat Lucifer. Dean was not going to kill Sam and I'm not sure their was any other way to stop him so he's as responsible as Sam. Maybe he'll realize that eventually. We'll see.
A wonderful start to the fifth season and worth the wait. I'm looking forward to the continuing adventures of the Winchester brothers hopefully for years to come! Thanks for reading...
