Original Crysis Coming to Xbox

Console gamers got to enjoy Crysis 2 earlier this year, but the first game in the series was a PC exclusive that could only be enjoyed by gamers with top-of-theline gaming rig.  That's all going to change next month when Cryteck brings Crysis to both Xbox and PS3 as a downloadable game.

When released, Crysis had system demands that would give most PC's a stroke, and wasn't released for puny consoles.  However, this console version is running on the new CryENGINE 3 that was used to make Crysis 2, and the game has been enhanced and optimized for consoles.

Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek says of the original Crysis, “We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later.  By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.”

As the quote above indicates, there'll be no multiplayer, and Yerli doesn't mention the expansion pack Crysis Warhead.  Still, even the single-player part of the game is a worthy investment of any shooter-fan's time.  It will cost twenty dollars or 1600 Microsoft Points, and comes out in October of this year.  No exact release date is set.
