Nintendo is again giving away free money for the Nintendo eShop, as long as you first invest a lot in it.
Like the Shin Megami Tensei/Fire Emblem promotion they've initiated recently, Nintendo is offering free credit for the eShop, but instead of buying games for this one, all you need to do is add funds to your eShop wallet. From now until July 28th, you’ll get a free $5 if you add $50-99.99 to your wallet, and you’ll get $10 if you add $100 or more. The promotion only works for Wii U owners, so Nintendo 3DS owners thinking that it’s now the time to get a digital copy of Animal Crossing or Shin Megami IV are out of luck.
The catch here is that the bonus isn’t instant. You’ll get the free funds via a redeemable code in an email on August 2nd. Nintendo says that the funds will be added “just in time” for Pikmin 3, so it seems that they’re beginning a stronger eShop push for Wii U like they’re doing with the 3DS now.
For savvier Wii U owners, you may also remember the Digital Deluxe Promotion that owners of the 32GB Wii U are able to take advantage of, where you get $5 back for each $50 you spend on the Wii U's eShop. So adding the funds and spending it by the end of the year will allow you to save another five or ten bucks.
