HBO has released an in-depth behind the scenes look video for the upcoming series True Detective. The video features interviews with the cast and crew and offers an insightful look at the detective thriller. With segments discussing the cast, writing, production, and setting of the series, the inside look provides an intriguing and engaging outline of what the show will bring and it looks fantastic. Not only are the actors talented and capable, but there also seems to be an assuring collaboration between the filmmaker, writer, and crew supporting the project. True Detective is shaping up to be one of the most promising television events of 2014. The series centers on two detectives, Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 is framed and interlaced with testimony from the detectives in 2012, when the case has been reopened. The first episode is entitled "The Long Bright Dark" and its synopsis reads: Former Louisiana State CID partners Martin Hart and Rustin Cohle give separate statements to a pair of investigators about the murder of a prostitute, Dora Lange, 17 years earlier. As they look back, details of the crime, replete with occult overtones, are accompanied by insights into the detectives’ volatile partnership and personal lives.
