Attention New York City
nerds! The Wizard World Big Apple Comic Con is coming this
weekend. Unlike some other comic book conventions, this one is still focused on comics, although there will still be some film, television
celebrities on hand, along with a trading card game tournament and a
costume contest.
On hand to meet fans,
sign autographs and do sketches will be Eisner Award winners
like Neal Adams, and Nick Abadzis, along with Eisner nominees
including Matt Kindt, Percy Carey, Kevin Colden, Jared K. Fletcher,
Michael Kupperman , Jason Little, Mark Morales, Laurie Sandel, Yuko
Shimizu, Ronald Wimberly and Brian Wood.
Other comic book artists
attending include Arthur Suydam, Jerry Robinson, Luke Ross, Greg Horn, Christos
Gage, Ryan Otley, Alex Saviuk. Representing the movie and television industries will be Tom
Felton (Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies), James Marsters (Spike from
Buffy), Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3) and Morena Baccarin of Firefly and
V.
Hours are Saturday, May 21,
10 a.m. - 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 22, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets are
available in advance online
at a discount over tickets purchased at the door. Advance adult
single-day tickets are $20; two-day weekend tickets are $35, and children age
10 and under can enter free when accompanied by a paid adult. VIP
