Blake Lively Rumored for ‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies’

Much like the walking dead, the film adaptation of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies just won’t stay down. Despite names such as Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway all crossing paths with the project in one form or another, “Zombies” has yet to find a leading lady. Now, Twitch reports that Blake Lively (The Town, Green Lantern) has met with director Craig Gillespie (Fright Night) and is being considered for Elizabeth Bennet.

Naturally, much like all the names that came before her, Lively is the latest rumor. However, if chosen, it would be Lively’s biggest role to date (her first as a headliner). The Gossip Girl star continues to make reaches out to the film world, impressing with The Town though underwhelming with Green Lantern (who wasn’t underwhelming in that one though?).

Despite the rocky history of the production, hope is still high for this adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel (of the same name) to make it to the big screen. Word is that despite David O. Russell’s departure from directing the film, his script has been left behind and will act as a foundation for Gillespie and screenwriter Marti Noxon to build on.
