Thor later gathers magical energy and resurrects Odin. For the third and final(?) time Odin is killed by Surtur and his powers are transferred to Thor. After going through the trials his father went through in order to gain the right to have Odin's power, Thor becomes closer to his father and is reunited with his father in Odin-Sleep, a realm between life and death. When Thor tries to resurrect Odin, Odin stops him and says he must continue to fight Surtur in Odin-Sleep to prevent him from returning to Earth. Odin is finally resurrected after Siege is over and Thor decides that only Odin can save them. The Present With Fear Itself currently happening in the Marvel U, Odin has removed Asgard from Earth in preperation for the return of the Serpent which is a man claiming to be the true All-Father. In the new 2011 Thor movie, Odin is played by Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs).
