Christian Bale Wanted for Darren Aronofsky’s Epic ‘Noah’

Darren Aronofsky has his heart set on making Noah, an epic based on the Biblical man of the same name, and he wants to make $130 million for it. It’s a risky project to say the least, and its huge budget means multiple studios will need to work together for funding. Of course, adding a huge star as the titular character couldn’t hurt.

Vulture reveals that Aronofsky is negotiating a deal with Christian Bale, who just picked up an Oscar for his role in The Fighter. This would definitely help with star power, but the casting would be odd to say the least, as Bale is 37 and Noah was 600 at the time of the Flood.

This would also benefit the plight for studio collaboration. Currently pitched at New Regency, studios like Fox, Paramount, and Summit are all considering hopping on board for financing. If Bale does decide to lead Noah, then we might see a studio step up to the plate for financing.
