‘Cowboys & Aliens’ will Premiere at Comic-Con

The movie, comic and geek community has always held Iron Man director Jon Favreau in high esteem. Now he's about to renew his fanboy certification: Cowboys & Aliens, his latest film starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford, will have its world premiere in San Diego at Comic-Con 2011.

Favreau recently held an Iron Man reunion with Robert Downey Jr. at the Hero Complex Film Festival in which he revealed his involvement in Iron Man 3, and soon afterward he told the LA Times of his intention to hold the Cowboys & Aliens premiere during the fan festival, which runs from July 21-24.

“The worldwide premiere of  ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ will be at Comic-Con, and not only are we going to premiere it there, we’re going to find a way to include as many of the fans as possible. I feel like they’ve come out for me, they’ve supported me.”

Favreau says the details are being worked out as to how to logistically hold a world premiere amidst the craziness of the country's biggest fan convention, but he insists on showing appreciation for the fans.

“That’s where it all started, and I want to give back. They should have the opportunity to see it first.”
