Dark Souls is Officially Announced for the PC

Big news for all of you out there who are infatuated with the masochistic nature of what could be considered the best dungeon crawler to date – Dark Souls. This week publisher Namco Bandai announced that they would be releasing a “Prepare to Die Edition” of Dark Souls on the PC set to release August 24th of this year.

After the release of the successful niche’ Dark Souls game on consoles late last year, gamers went on to make a petition calling for Namco Bandai and FROM SOFTWARE to bring their medieval fantasy horror RPG to the PC. It would seem that they’ve heard your calls.  "Our fans demanded to see this game brought to the PC, and the noise they have made was simply too loud and too passionate to ignore," said FROM SOFTWARE creative director Hidetaka Miyazak.

Besides Dark Souls making its way to the PC, here is what the new prepping for death edition will get you:

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will include an untold chapter in the world of Lordran where the player must stop the spread of darkness at all costs by facing and defeating the Dark Knight Artorias.

New Bosses - Including Artorias of Abyss, Chimera of Tomb, and more
PVP Online Matchmaking System - Quick matching for co-op or PVP
New Areas – Including Oolacile Tomb, Old Ruins and more
New Enemies – Including Abyss Guard, Chained Prisoner and more
New NPCs – Including Hawkeye Gough and more
New Weapons and Armor – Equip some from the new bosses, enemies, and NPCs

No word as of yet on whether these Prepare to Die Editions will make an addition to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Dark Souls. Hmmm…maybe I’ll make a petition.
