‘Deus Ex: The Fall’ Coming to Mobile

DEUS EX: THE FALLE3 is one week away but the announcements keep rolling in. Deus Ex: The Fall, the newest console-to-mobile crossover, will be on full display at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. According to NBC News, The Fall will be released this summer at a price of $6.99.

In a press statement, Eidos’ Jean-Francois Dugas (Executive Game Director), stated that “Deus Ex fans will get the same exploration, action, hacking, stealth, social enhancers, player choice and consequence like that of Human Revolution.” I am one of those fans that were immediately drawn into the world of Deus Ex and I am interested, beyond description, to see if this iteration has any resemblance to the console counterpart. Titles like Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, and Dead Space have all attempted this mobile transition with mixed reviews. The Fall is specifically designed for mobile platforms so it just may break the cold streak of console-to-mobile.

With Eidos Montreal developing and Square Enix publishing, they are jointly pushing their chips into the mobile pot for what seems to be Square’s future business model in gaming. Will this lead to other major releases like the Final Fantasy or Tomb Raider series getting their mobile makeovers? Time will tell and The Fall is a cool start.
