The Road

What’s the Deal?

Having premiered at the prestigious Venice Film Festival, John Hillcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel was expected to be nominated for a number of awards. Sadly, The Road did not live up to this promise, but this should not discourage the audience from seeing a powerful film about father and son relationship during the end of the world and having to avoid cannibals and thieves while trying to get to the East Coast of America.

75% (Very Good)

The Internet comedy group Derrick Comedy has written, produced and started in its first film. Three friends continue to tell on children for minor offences despite being on the edges of graduating high school and the town calling on them to grow up. To prove themselves they investigate a double homicide in this comedy film.

Spactacus
was the last Hollywood-produced film to be directed by Stanley Kubrick and is considered a classic of the sword and scandals genre. Kirk Douglas stars as Spartacus, a slave who was sold to become a gladiator and ended up leading a rebellion against the Roman Empire.

Clash of the Titans (1981)

What’s the Deal?

Coming onto Blu-ray is the first film to bring the lesson of Perseus to screen. This foray into Greek mythology has Perseus (Harry Hamlin), the favoured son of Zeus (Laurence Olivier), sent on a mission to defeat Medusa, kill the powerful creature the Kraken, and save Princess Andromeda. This was a film that used the most cutting edge special effects available at the time.
