The Fifth Terminator Movie Is Officially Subtitled “Genisys”
And word processors world-wide groaned. As the shooting for the reboot (of the reboot?) to the Terminator franchise wrapped on its fifth installment, we finally have news of an official title. And it came from the O.G. Terminator himself: Arnold Schwarzenegger took to
Instagram to post a picture dropping the bomb of the sci-fi flick's official logo and title.
The title's stupid simplicity masks a whole lot of smart going on behind-scenes, lest we forget. Alan Taylor is directing. He's done dozens of episodes of everything from
The Sopranos to
Game of Thrones, not to mention last year's
Thor: The Dark World. One of the screenwriting duo working on it (Laeta Kalogridis) penned Martin Scorcese's mind-bender
Shutter Island. And the First of Her Name, the Mother of Dragons, the Breaker of Chains,
Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea herself, Emilia Clarke will be playing Sarah Connor. Which is the
second time a
Game of Thrones cast member will play the mother of the future resistance leader.
So, silly title aside, there's still reasons to be excited for the sequel. Or reboot. Or whatever it's going to be. Check out Schwarzenegger's post below.
Terminator: Genisys (yep, still weird) will open in theaters July 1st, 2015.
