First Look: Veil #1

Eisner winner Greg Rucka (Lazarus, 52) has created a new horror mini-series for Dark Horse Comics: Veil. In an abandoned subway station a woman wakes up covered in rats (and nothing else) with no memory of how she got there. Then when some guys jump her they meet their own end instead. The artwork for this title is done by Cthulhu artist Toni Fejzula. See a preview for Veil #1 and read my first impressions below.   Veil #1 Preview   I can’t really get much of a feel for the story from the preview but from the cover and the abundance of rats I have a feeling our unnamed “heroine” may be related to the Rat King from TMNT. Fejzula’s artwork has a nice painted look to it and I like how he’s being tasteful while drawing the naked girl. However, her over exaggerated expression at the end makes me worried about the rest of the artwork… Veil #1 will be available on March 5th for $3.50.
