Turn off the Lights

First Screenshot Surfaces of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag”

As Ubisoft prepares for a meeting about the Assassin's Creed franchise tomorrow, we are graced today with a new screenshot from the follow up to last year's Assassin's Creed 3.

This photo seems to solidfy the pirate-esque theme that has been floating around in rumors. Edward Kenway, the father of Haytham Kenway of Assassin's Creed 3, is rumored to be the main character. Building off of what many consider to be the highlight of Assassin's Creed III, the ship battles, this game places Edward as a Privateer, "occassional" pirate, and of course, an assassin. Seeing as pirates appear to be the theme for this new adventure, it is only fitting that the game will take place in the Caribbean, allowing players to visit Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Cuba. While rumored to be in production for current generation systems, Ubisoft has plans to also release the game on future platforms. Darby McDevitt is also rumored to be making a return to the Assassin's Creed universe as lead scripwriter.

Needless to say, this new venture seems to be taking the best parts of Assassin's Creed games in the past and spinning them into an even bigger and greater game. Only time will tell how great this game truly will be, but from the rumors floating around, it is set to be quite the adventure. Keep checking back on Entertainment Fuse for more rumors and hopefully full information about this exciting new development from Ubisoft.
