From Bloom County to Mars Coming in July

Berkeley Breathed is known to comic-striplovers as the hilarious creator of Bloom County and its quirkydenizens Opus, Bill the Cat Milo Bloom, Steve Dallas, Cutter Johnand more. He is also renowned for his touching children's bookslike Mars Needs Moms and Flawed Dogs. Earlierthis year the Museum of Cartoon Art in San Francisco celebrated thejoy and laughter this inventive and diverse creator has given us byputting on a one man show of his work, both Bloom Countyand children's books. Accompanying that exhibition was a lovely96-page catalog, measuring 11 x 8.5 inches. The catalog showcased anumber of Breathed's Bloom County strips, each shot fromthe original art, as well as a selection of his children's bookillustrations. Additionally there are essay's and an interview withBreathed. Now through special arrangement with the Cartoon ArtMuseum and Berkeley Breathed, IDW is pleased to off this lovelybook—and fine companion piece to the Bloom CountyLibrary—to the direct market.
