The new issue of Entertainment Weekly has a new, first look of Chris Evans in full Captain America garb. Opening July 22 this year (in 2D and 3D), Captain America: The First Avenger, the Joe Johnston-directed comic book adaptation will also star Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark), Tommy Lee Jones (Col. Chester Phillips), Stanley Tucci (Dr. Abraham Erskine) and Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan).
So far, what is known about the plot is that it will take place during WWII and focus on the rise of Captain America against the Nazis, his relationship with sidekick Bucky Barnes and ultimately culminate in a cross-over to the upcoming “Avengers” film scheduled for next year, to be directed by Joss Whedon.
