Gears of War 3: RAAM’s Shadow DLC Releases Today

Today, December 13, marks the release of the first major campaign DLC for Epic's Gears of War 3.  The DLC is entitled "RAAM's Shadow," and it takes place prior to the first Gears of War game.  It's all entirely new content, and it switches the familiar Delta squad crew for Zeta Squad, a team comprised of both new and familiar faces from the story's canon (including Michael Barrick from the comics, Minh Young Kim from Gears 1, and Tai Kaliso).  

The unique campaign experience offered in RAAM's Shadow will run you about the length of one act of the main Gears 3 campaign.  While it may not exhibit the polish or set-pieces of the main storyline, the new and distinguished characters and environments make it distinct enough that it's definitely worth picking up.  If you purchased the Gears of War 3 season pass, then you'll be glad to find that so far, you didn't make a bad purchase.  If not, RAAM's Shadow will run you 1200 Microsoft points ($15).
