Get Politically Incorrect with Sacha Baron Cohen in ‘The Dictator’ Teaser

Man, have we been getting bombarded by trailers for next summer's movies. Not that we didn't know it would happen, but the Player Affinity Movie News team is working overtime. If you missed trailers for Rock of Ages, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Men in Black III or the latest Battleship trailer — all released this week — you can check those out (or keep an eye out for Trailer Tracker).

For those looking to laugh come May, Sacha Baron Cohen's latest character looks to do the trick. The Dictator was written in part by Cohen and directed by Borat and Bruno director Larry Charles, but the film doesn't involve real people getting made stupid for audiences worldwide and instead follows a traditional comedic structure.

The official summary is: "The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed." From what we've learned, Cohen plays both a dictator and (not seen in this trailer) a goat-herder look-alike that gets him deposed. Not sure if that's still true based on this trailer, but it sure sounds spot-on.

The trailer unveils small parts played by John C. Reilly and Megan Fox, but we see none of Anna Faris, who plays the love interest and none of Ben Kingsley. If this first clip is any indication, it might not matter; the politically charged humor looks to be enough to make anyone's jaw drop in hilarity.

The Dictator seizes movie theaters on May 11.
