Do you remember that Tomb Raider reboot we brought up a little while ago? Now there are finally some developments with the project.
The writers of the original Iron Man, Hawk Otsby and Mark Fergus, will script the reboot for GK Films. Deadline Hollywood reports that Graham King, a producer on the film, will likely pick an actress whose star is on the rise to embody Lara Croft as Angelina Jolie once did. The problem, however, is that she made for the ideal Lara Croft. An even bigger dilemma comes in what Otsby and Fergus plan to do with the film according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog:
“They want to create an ‘origin story for Lara Croft that solidifies her place alongside Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor in the pantheon of great female action heroes.’”
That could easily have happened with Angelina had the cards been played right the first time, but can it happen now?
