Jake Lacy will star as a stand-up comic who got a bad name in the business for ditching his scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson
. Now, he’s trying to come back from that by using his history of substance abuse and family drama to create a new act, but not everyone is excited to see him.
The show will also star Ari Graynor, Andrew Santino, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal, Erik Griffin, and Stephen Guarino as stand-up comedians that frequently take the stage at the club. There is also a long list of guest stars set to appear, including Alfred Molina, Sebastian Stan, Robert Forster, Jon Daly, Dylan Baker, Brianne Howey, Ginger Gonzaga, and Cathy Moriarty.
The show is based on a non-fiction novel of the same name written by William Knoedelseder and will start filming this fall in LA.
