January 2015 Nintendo Direct Recap

"New Nintendo 3DS NA launch, Zelda, Codename STEAM, new Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and more!"
Today's Nintendo Direct a very big deal, because it details the release of all-new Nintendo hardware: the New Nintendo 3DS. From launch date to price to compatible game details, every that can be said of the system is said here.
That's not to say that it's all about the New 3DS, we'll also detail amiibo figures, Wii U games and other 3DS games coming out soon! Let's start it off with a big announcement!

Fire Emblem
-Unnamed new entry hits 3DS this year. -Samurai class teased -States there will be new gameplay elements, though much of it seems very Awakening-like

Puzzle & Dragons Z/Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition
-Bundled together -Coming this May
Pokémon Shuffle
-Free to Play game -Seems very much like Candy Crush Saga, even has similar microtransactions
Wii U Virtual Console includes Wii games
-Starting today, you can get Wii games on the Wii U eShop -Super Mario Galaxy 2 releases today, Punch Out!! next week and Metroid Prime Trilogy out the week after that -These three games will be on sale for their first seven days on the eShop for $9.99 -Will still need Wii Remote and Nunchuk for games that require them -Can now use the Wii U GamePad as a substitute for the Wii Classic Controller, for games that support it -Can boot them from the Wii U menu, no need to boot Wii Mode
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

-Includes a figure hunting side quest, where you can view them -Kirby, Dedede and Meta Knight amiibo figures can unlock upgrades to Kirby for 24 hours -Delayed a week to Feb. 20th, for only $39.99

-Wave 4 of the Super Smash Bros. figures will include Lucina, Robin, Wario, Ness, Charizard and Pac-Man -Due out in the Spring -Wave 1 of the Super Mario Bros. figures also announced, and will include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi and Toad -Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser and Yoshi have the same chips as their Super Smash Bros. counterparts so they do the same thing as before -The Mario Bros. wave will release on March 20th -Toad works for Captain Toad: Tresaure Tracker, and the amiibo update for the game hits on March 20th -Unlocks pixelated Toads through each stage for you to hunt down
Mario Party 10

-Releases March 20th -Has a Limited Edition, which includes the Mario amiibo figure -Has amiibo Party Mode, which requires the figures -Figures unlocks boards, and you use that character on the board -Also has a mode like Mario Party 9’s main modes and a Bowser Mode, which focuses on 4 vs. 1 games -First amiibo figure-based game that requires to erase Smash data to make it compatible

-Has a hub world where you see other players’ characters, much like the Wii U’s Warawara Plaza -Can customize characters looks and outfits and even buy new weapons -Due out in May

Xenoblade Chronicles X

-Can create tourneys for their dinosaurs -Releases on March 20th
New Nintendo 3DS

-North America will only receive the New Nintendo 3DS XL, no smaller model -Same upgrades: C-Stick, NFC compatibility, ZL/ZR buttons, better CPU, better web browser, better 3D screen with auto-brightness, and micro SD card support -No charger included with system -Launching February 13th in red and black as well as two limited editions: Zelda: Majora’s Mask and Monster Hunter 4. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate included with the Monster Hunter edition and is a GameStop exclusive -Super Smash Bros. for 3DS adds C-Stick and amiibo functionality -$199.99 for all models but the Monster Hunter 4 one, which retails for $229.99

-Adds amiibo support with Marth, Ike, Lucina and Robin figures -Characters get added in battle, but won’t revive until the battle is done and your retap the figure -Adds C-Stick camera control -Out March 13th -Marth amiibo getting rerelease later in 2015
