Jason West Leaves Respawn Entertainment

Jason West, co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, has left the company according to many sources. Vince Zampella, who is also a co-founder, will now act as the head of studio for the foreseeable future. Whilst these names may not immediately be known to you, their work you will have definitely heard of. The duo were responsible for creating Call of Duty under Activision when they both worked for Infinity Ward, another studio which they co-founded.

A long lawsuit saw both leave Infinity Ward and found Respawn where numerous other employees joined to make a new first person shooter for EA. The game has been in development for many years and is set to be shown at this year’s E3. West’s departure apparently won’t impact the game’s development as he hasn't been working on the game for a few months at this point.

Whilst we don’t know much about Respawn’s first game and hearing about departures is never a good thing, the team has a great pedigree and when we do finally get to see the game, hopefully they will show they can still make incredible games.
