Joseph Fiennes Joins The Handmaid’s Tale
Hulu's The Handmaid’s Tale
has found its leading man. Joseph Fiennes has been cast opposite Elisabeth Moss in the 10-episode adaptation, according to TVLine

Fiennes, who is best known for his role as William Shakespeare in the the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love
, will play the role of Commander Fred Waterford, who is a founder of the society known as Gilead. He is a high-ranking official over a household where Offred (Moss) is a Handmaid.
The project is based on a novel of the same title, written by Margaret Atwood and published in 1985. It will start shooting this fall in Toronto and is set to premiere on Hulu in 2017.
