The Japanese pop trio Kalafina announced on Friday that they will perform on July 2 at Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles.
Kalafina's Wakana, Keiko, and Hikaru debuted in 2008 with "oblivious," the first of seven ending theme songs for the Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners anime films. Since then, they have performed theme songs for several other anime, including Black Butler and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Yuki Kajiura, a veteran composer of such anime as Noir, .hack//SIGN, and Tsubasa Chronicle, put together the Kalafina group and writes the music. However, Kajiura has not been announced as a guest for Anime Expo. Kajiura and Kalafina appeared together at Anime Boston 2009.
Kalafina joins previously announced Anime Expo Guests of Honor Vic Mignogna and Danny Choo.
