Kate McKinnon New Ms. Frizzle in Magic School Bus Revival
"Seatbelts, everyone!"
'90s kids rejoice! Not only is
The Magic School Bus being revived by Netflix, but Kate McKinnon has been cast as Ms. Frizzle,
according to Variety.
McKinnon, best-known for her work on
Saturday Night Live and in
Ghostbusters, will be the voice of the eccentric Ms. Frizzle on Netflix’s
The Magic School Bus Rides Again. The role was previously played by legendary comedian Lily Tomlin, who earned several Emmy nominations and a win for the role.
This reboot has been in development since 2014, and at that time it was set to have 26 episodes and be made using CGI instead of animation. Neither the premiere date has been set nor the visual look of the show has been revealed yet. Additional casting is also set to be announced at a future date.
The combination of 90s nostalgia and educational content make
The Magic School Bus the perfect program for families to enjoy together.
While reboots can be a dicey thing, this one seems promising. It will join other Netflix reboots
Fuller House and
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
