Marvel Announces Titles Through 2019

"There will be no shortage of Marvel movies for the next few years"
Marvel appears to be an unstoppable force in the movie world. In 2014, they've had two massive hits with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Guardians of the Galaxy, which have grossed a massive $1.5 billion combined worldwide. Their red-hot streak shows no signs of slowing down. According to Box Offie Mojo, the studio held an event Tuesday morning and announced an aggressive eight new title slate of upcoming movies. Adding in three existing releases, that makes a total of 11 movies scheduled between 2015 and 2019.

The list of upcoming releases goes as follows:

Marvel Studios—2015 to 2019 Avengers: Age of Ultron - May 1, 2015 Ant-Man - July 17, 2015 Captain America: Civil War - May 6, 2016 Doctor Strange - November 4, 2016 Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - May 5, 2017 Thor: Ragnarok - July 28, 2017 Black Panther - November 3, 2017 (starring Chadwick Boseman) Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 - May 4, 2018 Captain Marvel - July 6, 2018 Inhumans - November 2, 2018 Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 - May 3, 2019

With this impressive group of projects, it breaks down to five original titles, three sequels, and three Avengers movies. It's safe to assume that Captain America and Guardians will add to their predecessors totals: Captain America is adding Robert Downey, Jr. to the mix, while the first Guardians is one of the most well-liked comic book movies in many years.

It looks as though Marvel will be reaping rewards for many years to come. They have truly put the gauntlet down, in terms of creating quality movies with likable actors and massive box office returns. This winning formula is present in all of their upcoming projects and will continue to keep Marvel on top of the comic-book movie business. This genre shows no signs of disappearing anytime soon. Fanboys everywhere rejoice!
