Mass Effect 3 Delayed

Gamers have been eagerly awaiting the final installment of the Bioware's Mass Effect trilogy since they played through Mass Effect 2 in early 2010. When Bioware and EA unveiled the teaser trailer of Mass Effect 3 at last years Spike TV VGA awards show, fans of the games were excited. Not only was the final installment of the Mass Effect trilogy on its way, it was set to be released in less than a year, claiming Winter 2011 as a release window.

Unfortunately for those fans, today EA and Bioware announced that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first quarter of 2012, three months later than they originally claimed. The announcement was made by the Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series, Casey Hudson who said that "The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

The last game that Bioware delayed was Knights of the Old Republic and that turned out quite well, so while fans will have to wait a bit longer to step back into the shoes of Commander Shepherd and resume their fight against the Reapers, Bioware has shown in the past it will probably be worth it.
