Turn off the Lights

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is Official

Fresh off of GDC 2013, Hideo Kojima was there showing off the new Fox Engine, and of course, the question on everyone's mind is simple: "What's up with Metal Gear Solid?"

Well, it is simple really. The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes are both the same game. Turns out everything was a complete ruse, and the official title of the new Metal Gear game is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Details are still scarce, but what we know now is that Snake is waking up in a hospital after being in a coma for nine years. The hospital he is at is then suddenly attacked by lethal forces.

In gameplay videos that have yet to surface on the net, Snake is apparently helped by a man with a bandaged face who sounds remarkably like actor Kiefer Sutherland.  It is also rumored that series long-timer David Hayter is not returning as the voice of the iconic character, but nothing has been officially said about it.

As of right now, Metal Gear Solid V is running on a high end PC, at least that's what Kojima said today, but it seems that the game will launch on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It is as possibility that this game will also be out on next gen systems in the future. No release date has been announced today as well.
