Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Details Surface

Among the release dates that Nintendo disclosed today was for Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate, the expanded HD facelift of what was arguably the best online game on Wii. In addition to its date, Capcom has also added some tidbits about the game as well as unveiled its box art. Like its Wii counterpart, Ultimate will support voice chat, but it will be with headsets and not the awful Wii Speak microphone. The game will also have a patch available on launch day to allow USB keyboard support. Lastly, a demo will be available on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShops on February 21.

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate will launch both on Wii U and 3DS on March 19. The Wii U version supports four players online while the 3DS version only supports local co-op, but with both the 3DS and Wii U.

In other Monster Hunter 3 news, Capcom has also announced today that the servers for the Wii version of Monster Hunter 3 will shut down on April 30, a little over three years after its launch. Capcom is hoping that current Monster Hunter 3 players will move on to Ultimate.
