My Top 20 Villains of All Time – Part Four

Okay guys, here it is: my top 5 villains of all time. It has been extremely difficult choosing the right villains to compress into such a short list. Honestly there are already some positions I would like to change and others I wish I could completely swap out for another character, but I was not going to do a list bigger than this.

5.  He is gigantic and purple. He is known as The Devourer of Worlds. He is Galactus, and he first came to light in Fantastic Four #48. When he comes to earth, he is a threat to the entire population and many heroes have to band together to hold him off. He has returned many more times for different reasons, mainly to destroy earth. His vast and immense powers also make him pretty awesome. What adds to this character is that it can be argued if he truly is a villain, as he only eats planets so that he can survive. It is the depth of this character that makes him an appealing villain to read.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Galactus

4.  This guy has Omega Beams! The blue and grey muscleman that first appeared in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134 has since given Superman and the other heroes of the DC Universe a run for their money. In case you have not guessed it yet, this villain is Darkseid who wants to strip the Universe of its free will and fashion it after himself. He is the reason behind the Final Crisis story arc and has just always tried to control everything.

Darkseid                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               3.  This man has been around since WWII and has always tried to bring the Nazis back to power. He is the arch nemesis of the first Avenger; he is Red Skull. He first started terrorizing the armies of America in Captain America #1 and has long since that time been a threat. Unlike some other super-villains, this one has succeeded when his plans to assassinate Captain America worked, stripping America of a major patriotic symbol of freedom.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Red Skull

2.  He is almost a gentleman of sorts. Yes villainous, but just trying his best to look out for and ensure the survival of his species. The man in red: Magneto. First appearing in X-Men #1, this guy has truly stood the test of time. This guy has awesome powers, has been a constant threat to the X-Men since like, forever, and is a character that can stand on his own.

                                                                                          Magneto

1.  Okay guys, it is finally down to my number one. He is probably the same choice for many people, but he might not be for some. He is the Clown Prince of Crime, he is The Joker. A guy who is just a little insane and loves anarchy. With a few different tellings of his past, it may be that he himself does not know how he came to be. His main focus is on The Batman of course, but he has been a thorn in the side of anyone venturing to Gotham. First appearing in Batman #1, he is instantly recognized by so many people. Manipulating heroes and villains alike, and having killed Jason Todd. All he has wanted to do was just to make the Dark Knight laugh.

                                                                                       Joker

Alright, that is my list of my Top 20 Villains of All Time. A few honorable mentions however go out to Carnage, Venom, Dr. Doom, Onomatopoeia, Anti-Monitor, Cyborg Superman, Loki, Thanos, Two-Face, Riddler, Scarecrow, Kingpin, Omni-Man, Angstrom Levy, Malebolgia, Deathstroke and Dark Phoenix just to name a few.
