A Japanese trailer was released for Earth Defense Force 2025, as it is known in the states. This will be the fourth iteration in the EDF franchise, which since it is inception on the Xbox 360 back in 2006 in the form of Earth Defense Force 2017 has garnered a cult following. I was only able to play Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon which I loved, but according to fans of the original, wasn't enough to grab hold of the original fans. No other game in existence gives me the same satisfaction of killing bugs and monsters on an absurd scale than the EDF games, but also creates an old childhood movie of mine come to life in video game form: Starship Troopers.
